Very nice German sawback butcher bayonet. The blade has no pitting but some wear and the blade clearly has been used. The blade is nicely marked ” Deutsche Maschinenfabrik AG. The wood on the handle still has a nice brown patina with some dents. On the side of the blade you can see the crowned W for Kaiser Wilhelm and the date 1916. The scabbard has some dents but is overall in a good condition. The spring inside the scabbard is still functional. The bayonet with the sawback is more rare as most sawbacks were grinded off. Very nice example of a WW1 Butcher bayonet.
