US WW2 named M3 fighting knife with M8 scabbard

The M3 fighting knife is marked M3 on the guard, made by Imperial. The M8 scabbard is made by B.M. Co and have name scratched in it. The name appears to be Weidnek, would make a great research project since it is not a common name. Still has the leather lace on the scabbard.
